• Build and scale core systems;
• Write high-throughput, concurrent code at production scale;
• Work on problems that affect multiple teams across Engineering;
• Review code and assist other engineers with system design.

• 7+ Years of backend engineering experience;
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, maths, physics, or a similar field;
• Production fluency in Java, or expertise in another backend language (Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go, etc.) with a readiness to work primarily in Java;
• Track record of building core systems or foundational platforms used by other engineers;
• Experience with distributed systems at a meaningful scale;
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication and organisational skills;
• Fluency in English;
• Nice to have: Background in fintech or high-volume transactional environments, experience in a startup or scale-up, event sourcing in production, open-source contributions to frameworks, libraries, or developer tooling.
