infrastructure engineer in clinical research

Flex Databases develops services that support global clinical research and help make life-saving work easier.

• Administer production infrastructure and operational systems;
• Monitor, troubleshoot, patch, back up, and recover production environments;
• Configure and maintain networking infrastructure, including DNS, SSL/TLS, and firewalls;
• Automate infrastructure and manage configurations;
• Support CI/CD tools and processes;
• Administer production database systems, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting;
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application-related issues;
• Work with existing and legacy systems and improve them incrementally without introducing unnecessary operational risk;
• Identify repetitive manual work and automate it where appropriate;
• Introduce infrastructure improvements gradually with appropriate operational risk assessment;
• Collaborate with system administrators, developers, QA engineers, and software architects.

• 3+ Years of hands-on experience in infrastructure administration, DevOps, or a similar technical role;
• Strong practical experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration;
• Experience operating production infrastructure;
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and related infrastructure technologies;
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management;
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools and processes;
• Good knowledge of Git and TFS;
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform;
• Experience supporting and administering production database systems;
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell;
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
• Practical, hands-on approach to infrastructure operations;
• Ability to combine day-to-day infrastructure work with DevOps engineering tasks;
• Willingness to support existing systems rather than focusing exclusively on new technologies;
• Ability to understand an existing system before proposing significant changes;
• Pragmatic approach to technology selection and infrastructure improvements;
• Ability to collaborate with system administrators, developers, QA engineers, and software architects;
• Good written and spoken English;
• Nice to have: Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab, TFS, AWS, Firebird, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle.
