devops engineer in IT consulting

• Implement and support improvements that increase efficiency, enhance software quality, and accelerate delivery times;
• Share responsibility across development and operations with a focus on people, processes, and tools;
• Work with multidisciplinary teams including Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, and UCD;
• Support platforms and products in the UK as part of the APS Application Support team;
• Combine development, DevOps, and support responsibilities;
• Participate in an on-call rotation;
• Communicate with stakeholders and transfer business requirements into technical implementation;
• Facilitate business and technical knowledge as a business SME;
• Understand business needs and support an efficient DevOps team;
• Negotiate with and influence stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and appropriate prioritization of efforts.

• 2+ Years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role;
• Curiosity to explore new technologies;
• Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance;
• Practical experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Kafka, and KOWL;
• Experience working with Java development teams;
• Experience with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture, and integration;
• Experience with monitoring tools for system reliability and performance;
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes container orchestration and Helm package management;
• Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins;
• Experience with schema change management, such as Liquibase;
• Understanding of GitOps principles;
• Automation-focused mindset with proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and best-practice definition;
• Willingness to travel;
• Right to work in the UK;
• Ability to attain UK Security Clearance.
