DevOps engineer in cloud infrastructure

We are currently hiring for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer in Berlin for one of our clients, a Berlin-based medical technology company. The role focuses on supporting cloud infrastructure, automating software delivery, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and assisting with the deployment and operation of cloud-based applications. This role is suited to someone with a solid understanding of DevOps fundamentals , a willingness to learn, and a strong drive to develop their technical skills.

• Support the setup, maintenance, and operation of cloud infrastructure.
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated application builds, testing, and deployments.
• Work with Linux environments, command-line tools, and basic system administration.
• Support application containerization and deployment using Docker.
• Assist with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Write simple automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Work with Git and version control workflows.
• Help troubleshoot deployment issues, application errors, and infrastructure problems.
• Support monitoring, logging, and basic performance analysis.
• Learn and contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Terraform.
• Follow security best practices for access management, configurations, and secrets.
• Document technical processes and collaborate with developers and senior engineers.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and continuously improve technical skills.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, IT operations, system administration, or software development. Candidates with strong fundamentals and practical projects may also be considered.
• Basic understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD, automation, and software deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux and command-line operations.
• Understanding of Git and version control.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, with exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of networking basics, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, and IP addresses.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to grow as an engineer.
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• The position offers a salary of €46,000–€50,000 gross per year, depending on relevant experience, technical fundamentals, and interview performance.
