devops engineer for life sciences

Seqera develops software that helps scientists analyze and process data, consolidating fragmented data and computing resources into a unified platform for life sciences organizations.

• Build and operate internal infrastructure supporting engineers, services, and customers;
• Design and evolve cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness;
• Own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling;
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and release processes;
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and related tools;
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and internal teams to deliver high-impact projects and provide infrastructure expertise;
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems;
• Design and implement tools and technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and security;
• Write internal tools and services to automate manual workflows, improve developer productivity, and provide operational insights;
• Respond to production incidents and contribute to blameless postmortems;
• Continuously improve system reliability.

• Experience developing robust and scalable infrastructure solutions;
• Expert knowledge of Infrastructure As Code, CI/CD, and modern engineering tooling;
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools;
• Experience using infrastructure tooling in an enterprise setting;
• Ability to work with ambiguity, develop hypotheses with limited information, and learn complex concepts quickly;
• Ability to drive tasks independently and proactively seek help and additional resources when needed;
• Strong foundational knowledge of cloud infrastructure engineering;
• Experience applying industry best practices and implementing security measures to protect data integrity and prevent vulnerabilities;
• Experience identifying and responding to complex incidents, including issues related to customer infrastructure;
• Ability to communicate with technical teams and leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features and technical designs;
• Nice to have: Experience with multiple cloud providers, developer productivity experience, release engineering experience.
