• Own the reliability and performance of production ClickHouse clusters across self-hosted Kubernetes and managed ClickHouse services;
• Design standard architecture and tooling for dozens of multi-node clusters;
• Manage cluster provisioning, configuration, scaling, upgrades, and migrations as code;
• Build monitoring and alerting to identify issues before they affect users;
• Own backups and disaster recovery, and regularly test restores;
• Keep clusters secure by default;
• Plan capacity and control infrastructure costs;
• Support developers, DevOps engineers, DBAs, and engineering leadership with ClickHouse topics, including schema design, data ingestion, and query performance;
• Handle routine database requests and automate them where possible;
• Respond to production emergencies, including outside business hours;
• Lead database-side root-cause analysis and contribute to postmortems;
• Maintain documentation and runbooks and share knowledge with the team.

• Deep production DBA-level knowledge of ClickHouse, including storage, merging, replication, querying, and cluster behavior;
• Strong SQL skills, including complex analytical query optimization and schema design review;
• Ability to design architecture and automation for dozens of multi-node clusters;
• Experience operating large database fleets with dozens or hundreds of instances;
• Production experience running and maintaining stateful workloads on Kubernetes;
• Experience using a Kubernetes operator for production databases;
• Experience with version upgrades, backup and restore, and large dataset migrations between clusters or regions with zero or minimal downtime;
• Strong troubleshooting skills across queries, schema design, Kubernetes, Linux, storage, and networking;
• Experience building monitoring and alerting with a modern observability stack;
• Practical database security experience with encryption in transit and at rest, access control, and secrets management;
• Infrastructure as code experience with a mainstream tool;
• At least one programming or scripting language for automation;
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience with a major provider;
• Clear written and spoken communication with engineers and leadership;
• Ability to independently take a problem from investigation through production fix;
• Nice to have: hands-on work on Kubernetes database operator source code, practical use of AI tools for database observability or operational automation, experience in highly regulated environments, Kubernetes or cloud certifications.
