cloud engineer for AI compute

Graphcore develops hardware, software and systems infrastructure for AI compute, enabling scalable AI solutions and supporting the adoption of AI across industries.

• Build the cloud platform that turns Graphcore AI systems into usable, scalable services;
• Develop and deploy private and public cloud services for AI compute;
• Operate and extend OpenStack-based services;
• Automate deployment with infrastructure-as-code;
• Improve observability across the fleet;
• Benchmark, validate and optimise systems spanning Graphcore hardware, servers, switches and storage;
• Keep critical infrastructure available;
• Help pre-release hardware and software become reliable cloud services;
• Shape how internal users and customers access large-scale AI systems;
• Work with Software Platform, Datacentre Operations, Product Development, Engineering and QA;
• Take responsibility for unclear problems and make progress without waiting for perfect inputs;
• Use metrics, benchmarks, user impact and system behaviour to support decisions;
• Surface risks early and own corrective actions when systems need attention.

• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience;
• Proven ability to scope and deliver technical infrastructure work;
• Experience operating on-premises or private-cloud environments;
• Strong ownership of end-user availability;
• Strong Linux system administration and scripting skills;
• Experience with Bash and Python;
• Hands-on experience deploying services with Infrastructure-as-Code;
• Practical understanding of cloud foundations, including virtualisation, virtual networks, block storage, monitoring and observability;
• Experience using Git, CI or testing pipelines and container tools;
• Clear communication when supporting users;
