Cloud engineer

Komodo Consulting is a technology and strategy firm specializing in Digital Transformation. Operating in Portugal and Poland, we provide IT Consulting & Nearshore services. We support both public and private sector organizations through two main areas: Consulting — with a focus on strategy, investment analysis, and digital process improvement; IT Team Augmentation — helping clients scale and strengthen their tech teams. We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to work on a technology project.

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure;
• Provision and manage cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code;
• Plan and execute migrations of applications and workloads to the cloud;
• Configure and manage cloud networking, including VPCs/VNets, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing;
• Implement identity and access management, security controls, and compliance best practices;
• Monitor performance, availability, and costs, and propose optimisation measures;
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions;
• Support the deployment and operation of containerised and serverless workloads;
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions;
• Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and development teams, and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

• Solid experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role (3+ years);
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP);
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or equivalents;
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking and security fundamentals;
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (e.g. EKS, AKS, GKE) or equivalent platforms;
• Scripting experience, preferably in Bash, Python, or PowerShell;
• Solid understanding of Linux and/or Windows server administration;
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalents;
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git;
• English B2 or higher;
