Java Developer

STB Union is a financial app for everyday money management. It provides a multicurrency account, STB Visa card, worldwide money transfers, 24/7 currency exchange, and other financial services.

• Lead end-to-end feature delivery with Product, QA, and DevOps teams, owning features through design, implementation, testing, review, and production;
• Build Go services for the new platform and Java features and integrations for the existing platform;
• Design scalable solutions for complex business problems and contribute to technical architecture decisions;
• Write maintainable, well-tested code with Claude Code;
• Participate in manual and AI code reviews and provide constructive feedback;
• Monitor and maintain production systems;
• Implement security and performance best practices.

• 5+ Years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years of production Go;
• Genuine willingness to work in Java, with approximately half of the work involving a legacy codebase;
• Experience developing new features and architecting a codebase;
• Experience with AWS (ECS/SQS/RDS), PostgreSQL, Git (GitLab/GitHub), and Docker;
• Daily use of AI coding tools with full ownership and review of shipped code;
• Prior experience working remotely in a distributed team;
• Fluent Russian (C1) and English (B2), both verbal and written;
• Experience in fintech or banking sectors;
• Nice to have: Java and Spring Boot or Vert.x, Vue 3, Kubernetes, NATS or Kafka, more than one programming language.
