• Hire and lead teams in Spain and Poland
• Build a strong team culture and set high standards
• Define the technical direction, long-term roadmap, and strategic initiatives for Cards
• Lead by example in using AI to build quickly, take initiative, and transform ways of working
• Partner with stakeholders across Affirm to advance technical excellence and business results
• Build an ownership culture across teams, with accountability and a focus on scale and efficiency
• Mentor and lead managers and engineers
• Guide integrations with partners and processors and support internationalization
• Reduce the time required to integrate with external partners and enable card launches in new countries as Affirm expands
• Shape engineering culture across Cards and collaborate with engineering leaders on how teams work
• Guide architectural choices and deliver critical initiatives
• Participate in the required on-call rotation

• 10+ Years of software engineering experience
• 5+ Years managing engineering teams
• 2+ Years managing managers
• Experience leading a multi-team engineering organization through a multi-year technical strategy and turning ambiguous requirements into shipped deliverables
• Technical depth to guide architecture, reliability, and quality decisions across a portfolio of systems while empowering tech leads and architects to make decisions
• Ability to make investment and prioritization decisions amid disagreement or incomplete consensus, and to change course when evidence changes
• Ability to explain strategy, risk, and tradeoffs to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives
• Experience developing managers into senior leaders and building teams where diverse perspectives are included and valued on merit
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Base pay range in Spain: €119 000 - €155 000 per year
• Equity Grade: Spain 7; employees may be eligible for equity rewards from Affirm Holdings, Inc
