Software Engineering Lead – Conversational Platforms

• Support the recruitment and hiring of engineering talent and facilitate new team members’ onboarding
• Work with other engineering teams to identify changing requirements and opportunities to improve the development environment
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to prioritize, plan, and schedule work
• Communicate status, risks, and requirements to other groups
• Provide technical and non-technical guidance to the team
• Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for the team and its members
• Adapt to evolving requirements and shifting priorities
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support team members’ professional growth
• Build production-facing software, focusing on conversational and messaging channels including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Facebook, Push, and Email

• Hands-on experience building or integrating conversational and messaging systems, ideally across WhatsApp Business APIs, Instagram Messaging, Facebook Messenger, Push Notifications, and Email delivery platforms
• Experience with bidirectional messaging, templates, webhook flows, provider integrations, and high-volume message delivery
• At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years building scalable enterprise-grade systems
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Java or Python Developer and in database management, including MySQL or Cassandra
• Experience with high-volume solutions
• Ability to spend substantial time interfacing with offshore teams daily
• Fluent English with excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
• Practical experience with queuing systems or message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SQS
• Practical experience with cache technologies such as Memcached or Redis
• General knowledge of integrating with third-party bidirectional messaging providers such as Meta and Apple
• Practical experience with AWS services and Oracle Cloud Services
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining sight of the big picture
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to apply business logic creatively to development requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
