Rust Developer

Fusion Consulting is a global Business and IT boutique consultancy specializing in the Life Sciences industry. It partners with companies in pharma, healthcare, and animal health, delivering business transformation solutions focused on S4HANA, Data & Cloud, and innovative technologies.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services in Rust;
• Build reliable REST APIs and asynchronous application components;
• Create and maintain data models and integrations with relational data stores;
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested production code;
• Take ownership of backend features from design through delivery and support;
• Contribute to frontend applications developed with Vue.js and Angular;
• Support AWS Glue pipelines and related ETL or data-processing activities where needed;
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions;
• Work effectively within a polyglot codebase and learn adjacent technologies;
• Collaborate with team members and communicate technical progress, risks, and decisions clearly.

• At least 4 years of professional software development experience;
• Solid production experience developing applications or services in Rust;
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including API design, asynchronous programming, data modeling, and automated testing;
• Experience building maintainable and reliable production systems;
• Willingness to contribute to frontend applications built with Vue.js and Angular;
• Ability to learn unfamiliar tools, technologies, and codebases quickly;
• Comfort working across backend, frontend, and data pipeline components over time;
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills;
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical deliverables;
• Nice to have: Experience with Vue.js, Angular, React, or another modern SPA framework, experience with AWS services, familiarity with AWS Glue or similar ETL and data integration tools, experience designing or maintaining data pipelines, previous experience working in a polyglot engineering environment, interest in growing from a Rust-focused backend role into broader full stack responsibilities.
