Product Engineering Team Lead

Wintermute is a crypto-native algorithmic trading company in digital assets. It provides algorithmic liquidity across cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, offers OTC trading products, supports blockchain projects and traditional financial institutions entering crypto, and contributes to the blockchain ecosystem through investments, partnerships, and project incubation.

• Define and own the technical architecture for trading products, client-facing portals, and internal applications, making key technology and design decisions
• Lead and mentor a full-stack engineering team, setting standards for code quality, reviews, and engineering practices
• Drive technical strategy and the roadmap with product leadership, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Architect systems that handle high data volumes, real-time streaming, and low-latency interactions
• Oversee frontend experiences across the customer lifecycle, from onboarding portals to real-time trading dashboards
• Collaborate with product, marketing, trading, and backend engineering teams to align and deliver work
• Establish and evolve sprint planning, incident response, and deployment processes

• 8+ Years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
• Proven experience making architecture decisions for complex, data-intensive applications
• Experience building and scaling real-time, high-data-volume systems
• Strong command of TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with the ability to evaluate and adopt new technologies
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Node.js, Python, Go, or similar languages
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, WebSockets, message queues, databases, and frontend/backend integration in high-performance environments
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms, CDN, monitoring and observability, and deployment strategies
• Strong understanding of security best practices, including OWASP, authentication and authorization patterns, and secure data handling
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers and building a high-performing team
• Genuine interest in leading a technical team in a fast-paced trading environment; this is a deeply technical, not people-management-only role
