PHP Developer

Flutter Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) is an iGaming and sports betting technology and product hub within Flutter. It unites regional brands and uses global infrastructure, customer signals, and the Signature System operating model to scale products and promote responsible innovation across Central and Eastern Europe.

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js;
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and secure backend solutions;
• Participate in technical design discussions and continuously improve backend architecture and performance;
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations, including real-time features such as WebSockets when needed;
• Integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases, message brokers, third-party services, and external APIs;
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code, including unit tests;
• Maintain high standards for code quality through reviews;
• Debug and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and security;
• Maintain technical documentation and API guidelines;
• Perform related duties as assigned;
• Own backend service performance and stability;
• Ensure APIs operate efficiently and proactively identify and resolve issues;
• Drive rapid incident resolution;
• Take accountability for service reliability, uptime, and seamless integration with mobile applications.

• 5+ Years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on backend development;
• 2+ Years of backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript;
• Solid experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs;
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, scalability, microservices, and API security best practices;
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative Git-based workflows, including GitHub or GitLab;
• Familiarity with Agile processes;
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Jest, Mocha, Supertest, or equivalent tools;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes;
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS;
• Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript;
• Experience optimizing backends for scalability, maintainability, and performance;
• Good understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing with queues, Kafka, or RabbitMQ;
• Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, and OpenID Connect;
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL;
• Knowledge of non-relational databases such as MongoDB and Redis;
• Understanding of web and API security principles, including OWASP Top Ten;
• Proficient written and verbal English communication;
