node.js developer for scalable AI backends

EPAM provides enterprise software products, open-source solutions, and accelerators through EPAM SolutionsHub.

• Develop and scale high-performance backend services using Node.js, Nest.js, and TypeScript;
• Build, enhance, and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs, including integrations with external services;
• Deploy and support backend solutions across AWS and/or Azure environments;
• Explore and implement AI technologies and services to enhance product capabilities;
• Integrate AI/ML APIs, including OpenAI and LLM-based solutions, into production systems;
• Collaborate with developers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions;
• Participate in Scrum activities such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives;
• Review code and help ensure consistent engineering and development standards;
• Produce clean, readable, testable code and contribute to improving automated testing;
• Investigate and resolve complex backend, API, integration, and performance-related issues;
• Participate in technical and architectural discussions and help drive continuous improvement.

• 5+ Years of professional experience in backend development;
• Strong practical knowledge of Node.js, Nest.js, and TypeScript;
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs;
• Solid experience developing REST APIs and working with complex third-party integrations;
• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure;
• Experience integrating AI/ML services, including OpenAI APIs and LLM-based technologies, into production applications;
• Understanding of scalable backend architecture, microservices, and distributed systems;
• Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment;
• Strong knowledge of clean code principles, software testing, and development best practices;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
