• Design, build, maintain, and evolve the sync SDK powering Proton Drive's desktop applications;
• Manage and synchronize local and remote state;
• Perform cryptographic operations;
• Build resilient and scalable applications with graceful degradation and privacy-preserving logs and metrics;
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle;
• Configure Gitlab, deployments, monitoring, and alerting;
• Respond to operational incidents;
• Collaborate with backend engineers on changes and features required for the core desktop experience;
• Contribute to a small team delivering privacy-by-default solutions for Drive clients on Windows, macOS, and Linux;
• Develop applications for a wide range of users while abstracting the complexity of end-to-end encryption;
• Invest in test automation to improve team productivity and software delivery cadence;
• Divide problems into simpler, composable iterations and re-evaluate scope to meet objectives on time;
• Maintain high standards for application monitoring and alerting.

• Strong experience in .NET development;
• Strong experience with concurrent multi-threaded programming;
• Working knowledge of file systems;
• Working knowledge of Git;
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field of study;
• Experience owning and maintaining large software components;
• Experience with gradual rollouts and metrics, monitoring, and alerting frameworks;
• Nice to have: experience building and maintaining desktop applications.
