nPlan has built an AI platform that helps large construction companies understand their projects, avoid delay risks, and improve the cost and delivery time of major infrastructure projects.

• Design, build, and deploy new backend capabilities, including sophisticated AI systems;
• Propose designs, evaluate trade-offs, and drive technical changes from design to deployment;
• Improve observability, incident response, performance, scaling, and automation;
• Design, ship, and operate production services and APIs;
• Clarify ambiguous requirements and drive work to shippable solutions;
• Conduct effective code reviews as a quality gate.

• Three-plus years of owning scalable, real-world systems;
• Experience with Kubernetes in a cloud environment;
• Ability to design reliable, testable, and scalable systems from a blank page;
• Strong understanding of system design trade-offs;
• Experience with data modelling, indexing strategies, production-level migrations, and referential integrity;
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of the cost of slow queries;
• Experience writing unit and integration tests;
• Understanding of attack surfaces and common vulnerabilities;
• Experience with distributed systems, queues, retries, idempotency, consistency trade-offs, and failure modes;
• Experience building clean, well-tested backend services with Python, Go, or Typescript;
• High standards for observability, on-call readiness, incident response, and performance tuning;
• Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems;
• Nice to have: Experience working inside a SOC- or ISO-accredited company, thoughtful integration of coding agents or LLMs into development workflows.
