The client operates in the investment banking industry.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring
• Implement data access using Hibernate and SQL, focusing on performance and maintainability
• Analyze and tune SQL queries and database performance on Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Define and consume RESTful APIs, communicating requirements and constraints across teams
• Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions
• Apply clean code principles and back-end best practices across the codebase
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Perform code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards and tooling
• Work closely with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliveries
• Support and improve existing applications in an enterprise investment-banking environment

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Java developer, with a proven track record on long-term projects
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Strong SQL skills, including query and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Experience in automated testing of Java applications
• Clean coding skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Experience in RESTful API design
• Familiarity with agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban
• Good communication skills and the ability to clearly state requirements to other teams
