Neon is a Zurich-based fintech startup focused on disrupting the Swiss banking industry. It combines UX/UI, data-driven decision-making, automation, CI/CD, reproducible environments, and customer-focused product development.

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services using Java 21, Spring Boot 3, REST APIs, and Kubernetes;
• Take end-to-end ownership of backend components from design to production;
• Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines in an agile Kanban environment;
• Use observability and monitoring tools to ensure system health, performance, and reliability;
• Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, QA, product owners, and platform teams to enhance applications;
• Influence architecture, best practices, and technical decisions through team discussion;
• Support and mentor other engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing;
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate backend development, code reviews, and testing.

• Extensive experience building production-grade Java applications;
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of the daily workflow;
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, software design, and distributed systems;
• Strong knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, microservices, and networking concepts;
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, tools, and modern DevOps practices;
• Ownership of components, features, or systems in past roles;
• Fluent spoken and written English;
• Living in Belgrade or willing to come to the office at least 2 days per week;
• Nice to have: German or other related languages.
