Tango is a global live-streaming platform with over 500 million registered users, building backend systems for live video, creator monetization, recommendations, moderation, payments, and AI-powered user experiences.

• Design, build, and evolve high-performance backend services for core product flows;
• Own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, rollout, observability, and production reliability;
• Solve distributed systems challenges related to scalability, latency, resilience, and cost efficiency;
• Contribute to high-load systems, including components operating at up to 50k RPS;
• Drive architectural decisions and improve reliability, performance, and operational simplicity;
• Work closely with product, infrastructure, platform, and data teams to deliver measurable business impact.

• Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and performance;
• Strong production experience in backend engineering;
• Experience building and operating distributed or microservice-based systems in production;
• Strong understanding of scalable architectures and distributed systems trade-offs;
• Experience designing robust APIs and service boundaries;
• Solid experience with databases, asynchronous processing, and event-driven systems;
• Strong ownership mindset across implementation, testing, rollout, monitoring, and production outcomes;
• Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where engineers own quality and delivery;
• Nice to have: Experience with Java or readiness to ramp up quickly, experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka or similar technologies, experience with relational databases, caching layers, and cloud infrastructure, experience in high-scale consumer products, live-streaming, video, AI, moderation, fintech, or communication platforms, experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
