Sigma Software is a software development company offering engineers the opportunity to work on globally used products. The customer is a global cybersecurity company delivering digital protection solutions that identify vulnerabilities, prevent cyber threats, and secure digital experiences for individuals, businesses, and communities. The project safeguards applications from automated attacks and malicious traffic through a platform of approximately 35 backend services combining legacy systems with modern distributed architecture.

• Independently own and navigate a large backend ecosystem consisting of multiple services with minimal ramp-up support;
• Develop and maintain backend services using Golang;
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code while participating in code reviews and technical discussions;
• Analyze legacy and unreviewed code to identify technical debt, systemic issues, and architectural risks;
• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for improvement, proposing and implementing solutions;
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical objectives and execute roadmap initiatives;
• Advocate for architectural improvements and negotiate technical decisions with peer engineering teams;
• Contribute to long-term platform evolution while balancing short-term business priorities;
• Ensure reliability and performance of high-load production systems.

• 5+ Years of commercial software development experience;
• Strong proficiency in Golang;
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design;
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from planning and objective-setting to delivery and support;
• Proven experience working with high-load, high-traffic production systems;
• Solid understanding of scalable and maintainable backend architecture principles;
• Ability to work independently with large and unfamiliar codebases;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Demonstrated proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues before escalation;
• Experience aligning technical solutions with business and customer needs;
• Ability to communicate and negotiate technical direction with engineering stakeholders;
• Upper-Intermediate English level;
• Highly proactive and self-driven engineer with strong ownership mentality;
• Confidence in making technical decisions and defending architectural approaches;
• Comfort working in ambiguous and complex environments;
• Strong collaboration and communication skills;
• Focus on long-term quality and engineering excellence;
• Nice to have: Experience with C++, Objective-C, or Rust, previous experience as a primary owner of a large-scale legacy system, experience working within cybersecurity or infrastructure-focused products, background in distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
