We are seeking a motivated Junior Full Stack R&D Software Developer to join our growing R&D team based at the Harwell Science Campus near Oxford.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative commercial web-based spectroscopy applications, working alongside firmware, hardware, quality, and data science engineers in a highly collaborative environment.

Our primary technology stack consists of .NET, C#, and Angular, and we follow Agile/SCRUM methodologies within a structured project framework with assistance from AI. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer looking to develop their technical expertise while contributing to products that support scientific innovation.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Recent graduate or candidate with up to 2 years of software development experience, including internships, placements, or graduate projects
• Strong programming skills in C# and .NET, with knowledge of web application development principles and modern software engineering practices including use of AI across the development cycle
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Understanding of software testing, debugging techniques, and software quality best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and apply them effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to shared goals
• Experience with REST API design and development, relational databases, and data modelling
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and modern software delivery methodologies
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and software quality best practices
• Understanding of cloud technologies, modern software architectures, and scalable web application development
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows
• Experience working within Agile/SCRUM environments and collaborating in cross-functional engineering teams
