Forward deployed AI engineer in regulated industries

Gravitas is partnering with an innovative AI software company to hire a Forward Deployed AI Engineer. This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most exciting AI scale-ups, building agentic AI systems that are transforming operations within highly regulated industries. Working with enterprise customers and leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, you'll play a key role in taking complex business challenges and turning them into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable impact.

• Partner with C-suite executives, senior stakeholders and technical teams to scope AI initiatives and define project requirements.
• Design, build, evaluate and deploy agentic AI systems into production environments.
• Develop intelligent workflows for document generation, compliance monitoring, business process automation and decision support.
• Deploy solutions within customer Azure environments using services such as Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure AI Foundry and private networking.
• Establish evaluation frameworks, testing methodologies and performance metrics to measure AI effectiveness.
• Build reusable Python components and frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple deployments.
• Provide technical leadership throughout implementation and customer adoption.
• Drive best practices around AI engineering, evaluation, guardrails and production operations.

• Strong Python development experience with production systems, backend services and data pipelines.
• Hands-on machine learning engineering experience, including training, evaluating and deploying models.
• Strong cloud infrastructure experience, ideally Azure (AWS/GCP backgrounds also considered).
• Experience translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Deep understanding of modern AI and agentic architecture patterns, including tool use, retrieval, evaluations and guardrails.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• £70,000+ base salary (flexible for highly experienced candidates)
