Mapbox is a real-time location platform that provides tools for navigation, mapping, and search. Organizations use its applications, data, SDKs, and APIs to create customized location-aware experiences. The Mapbox Roads team builds comprehensive global road networks for visual and navigational purposes.

• Take ownership of existing data processing pipelines, and improve, scale, and iterate on them;
• Design and implement new data processing pipelines;
• Collect and monitor performance metrics;
• Discuss and implement security best practices;
• Develop software and technology for road features, navigation, and high-definition maps.

• Good knowledge of at least one programming language: C++, Python, Scala, or Java;
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, IAM, EMR, Glue, Athena, or Kinesis, or another cloud platform;
• Comfort with SQL and a thorough understanding of SQL engine basics;
• Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles;
• Experience with at least one workflow management tool, such as Airflow, Oozie, or Luigi;
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to justify technical decisions;
• Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Nice to have: prior experience in the mapping, navigation, or automotive industry, hands-on experience with data processing platforms or frameworks such as Spark.
