Data engineer

Join the Platform Development & Integration team within Deloitte Engineering. You will work on a variety of projects, such as discovering trends in financial data, building data models as efficiently as possible, and developing data-driven solutions together with clients. Together, we can turn data into actionable insights, modernize infrastructure, and help organizations become more data-driven.

• Work at the intersection of infrastructure, software, and data;
• Design, develop, and maintain data-driven solutions;
• Analyze client needs and help translate them into technical solutions using data-related technologies, including Databricks, Snowflake, and Apache Spark;
• Work with senior engineers to design and improve data pipelines, architectures, and data modeling;
• Take part in team and training sessions to improve your skills and contribute to the development of the data engineering capability.

• A completed technical university Master's degree, such as in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering, or another Master's degree with a strong technical component;
• Basic knowledge of or experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, preferably using tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar ETL technologies;
• A good understanding of logical and physical data models to represent business processes effectively and ensure that data can be stored and retrieved efficiently;
• Experience with a programming language such as Python, a good foundation in SQL, and/or experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark (PySpark);
• The ability to work effectively with both clients and internal colleagues;
• The ability to structure problems effectively and devise solutions, as well as the willingness to implement those solutions;
• A strong sense of responsibility, plenty of ambition, and openness to learning;
• Excellent spoken and written command of Dutch and English.
