Data architect

• Own the data architecture strategy and act as the final reviewer for significant structural changes to the platform
• Design and govern data models across the bronze, silver and gold layers of the Medallion Architecture
• Define and enforce dimensional modelling standards (star schema, data vault or hybrid)
• Lead the design of semantic/gold layer models for BI, analytics and product use cases
• Recommend scalable and reusable data modelling patterns in DBT
• Establish data governance standards (naming conventions, data classification, lineage) and maintain architectural blueprints and platform documentation
• Assess new data sources and design ingestion and modelling patterns, working with engineering to keep decisions practical and implementable
• Collaborate with engineering, Data Analysts, BI and Product to translate business needs into robust data models, assess new data sources, and present decisions to technical and non-technical audiences

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with a strong architecture focus
• Strong expertise in data modeling - dimensional modelling, star schema, data vault, or Kimball methodology
• Hands-on experience with DBT for modelling and transformation layer design
• Deep knowledge of Databricks and Azure data services (ADLS Gen2, Synapse)
• Solid SQL and Python skills for reviewing and validating data models
• Experience designing for Medallion / Lakehouse architectures
• Ability to produce and maintain clear architectural documentation
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• English B2+ with confidence presenting architectural solutions to international stakeholders
