Core Engineer

CD PROJEKT RED creates story-driven RPGs.

• Develop and maintain core technology systems built on Unreal Engine
• Propose and implement solutions to meet the performance and scale demands of a large open-world game
• Cooperate with Epic to share ideas and advance the technology
• Create technology for games that deliver memorable experiences to players
• Work across disciplines to ensure outcomes meet stakeholder needs
• Create tools and data pipelines to build a massive world with minimal performance impact
• Proactively maintain clear communication and build ongoing relationships with power users of the systems

• Significant Unreal Engine experience in at least one of the following areas: Streaming (e.g. World Partition System, HLOD, cooking pipeline, FastGeo), memory systems (allocations, GC), physics (ChaosPhysics), or world-building tools (SceneOutliner, LevelInstances)
• Extensive C++ experience
• Relevant game development experience, including work on a AAA title
• Experience developing for PC and consoles
• Experience with multithreaded programming
• Strong system architecture skills
• Ability to debug and optimize code
• Collaborative mindset, clear communication skills, and ability to build trusted relationships across teams
