Backend engineer in fintech

Based in Lisbon, this is a rare chance to join a small, profitable team building real-time odds infrastructure used by the people who trade sport. Their platform pulls live odds from more than 300 bookmakers and serves around 400 B2B clients, from prediction markets like Polymarket to hedge funds, market makers and major European bookmakers. It also runs an exchange where funds trade. Profitable, 21 people, mostly engineers, and growing every month.

• Build and own backend services in Python or TypeScript, end to end
• Work on real-time data pipelines, from ingestion to the client-facing API
• Ship low-latency REST and WebSocket APIs used by trading desks
• Improve reliability and performance of systems running 24/7
• Take part in architecture decisions and code reviews

• 2+ years of backend development in production, in Python or Node.js/TypeScript
• Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, trading or market data
• Solid experience with APIs, databases (PostgreSQL) and data that moves fast
• Tech or engineering education
• Autonomy: you take ownership and move without hand-holding

• €70k to €80k base salary
