Backend engineer in distributed systems

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build and operate the services behind our products. You’ll work on distributed systems and APIs, taking ownership of reliable software from design through production.

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs for our products.
• Own features from technical design and implementation through release and operation in production.
• Collaborate with other engineers and product teams to scope work and identify dependencies early.
• Build reliable distributed services and improve their performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and use monitoring, logs and traces to understand system behaviour.
• Write automated tests, review code and contribute to practical engineering standards.

• More than 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and sound software design principles.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs with clear contracts and robust error handling.
• Experience with relational databases, including data modelling and SQL.
• Hands-on experience deploying, operating and troubleshooting software in production.
• Будет плюсом: Experience developing services in Go; Familiarity with Kubernetes; Experience with OpenID Connect (OIDC) and authentication integrations; Experience integrating payment providers or platforms such as Stripe, Apple or Google; Experience with observability tools for metrics, logs and traces, particularly the Grafana stack; Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools; Experience planning and delivering database or service migrations
