• Own and deliver quarterly team goals, lead engineers through ambiguity, and support the team throughout delivery;
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle;
• Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on risk- and trade-off-aware decisions;
• Identify project, process, technology, and business issues, advocate for them, and lead their resolution;
• Create and monitor metrics, escalate when needed, and support operations, availability, keep-the-lights-on, and on-call efforts;
• Set and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for them through writing and tech talks;
• Provide feedback and guidance, develop talent, and lead by example;
• Write robust Kotlin and Python code, ship impactful features, investigate complex production issues, and maintain reliable systems.

• 4+ Years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin;
• Experience developing highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes;
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible designs;
• Ability to write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others;
• Proficiency in making significant changes in large codebases and developing tools and practices to do so safely;
• Proactive ownership of professional growth and feedback from teams, managers, and stakeholders;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
