backend developer in asset management

The role supports the CTO's office of a large asset management company in managing the client's Kong API Gateway product. The position focuses on enterprise-grade API management, security, and integration capabilities.

• Design and develop backend applications, serverless functions, and microservices supporting enterprise API management;
• Build and maintain REST APIs and API management solutions using Kong API Gateway and Kong Konnect;
• Develop and deploy serverless components using AWS Lambda;
• Collaborate within a SCRUM team following Agile methodology;
• Implement API security measures, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, SSL/TLS, and mTLS;
• Support CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices for continuous deployment;
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch and Splunk.

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field;
• Have 5+ years of experience designing and developing backend applications, serverless architectures, microservices, REST APIs, and API management solutions;
• Have practical experience with Kong API Gateway, Kong Konnect, REST APIs, API Management, and API Security;
• Be proficient in Node.js and/or Python;
• Know AWS services, including ECS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, Route 53, IAM, and Secrets Manager;
• Have experience with DevOps and observability tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, Bash, CloudWatch, and Splunk;
• Have experience with most of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, SSL/TLS, and mTLS;
• Have experience working within a SCRUM team and Agile methodology;
• Have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a client-facing capacity;
• Be fluent in English;
• Nice to have: Master's degree in Computer Science, Anthropic Claude / Claude API integration, prompt engineering.
