backend developer for scalable SaaS platforms

The company is a fast-growing B2B SaaS business developing a core platform with scalable backend systems.

• Lead backend technical decisions and define architectural direction;
• Ensure systems remain scalable, reliable, and maintainable;
• Develop new features alongside the team;
• Review technical designs and maintain high engineering standards;
• Mentor backend engineers and support complex technical problem-solving;
• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Frontend teams;
• Identify technical risks and drive best engineering practices.

• Proven experience as a Backend Tech Lead;
• Strong production experience with Python and FastAPI;
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and microservices;
• Strong SQL knowledge;
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL;
• CI/CD experience;
• Experience with Docker and containerization;
• Deep understanding of clean architecture and domain-driven design;
• Strong code review and mentoring skills;
• Ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery;
• Nice to have: AWS (ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, RDS), event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka), Terraform, large-scale data processing, fintech or analytics platform experience, startup or scale-up experience.

• Quarterly team weeks in Vienna;
