backend developer for insurance solutions

Solveva is an owner-operated technology and consulting company specializing in insurance and reinsurance solutions. It develops customized client solutions and proprietary products that help modernize and optimize core insurance processes, including pricing, underwriting, and risk management.

• Develop and implement complex software applications using event-driven architectures with Java and Spring;
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams throughout the SDLC;
• Apply development best practices, including the responsible use of AI coding agents, to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability;
• Guide, review, and validate code produced by AI tools, taking ownership of it and continuously improving it;
• Encourage technical discussions to drive continuous product improvement;
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and software developers in an international team;
• Analyze project environments, identify obstacles, and develop solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree related to IT or equivalent practical track record;
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level;
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle;
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, directing and owning agent-produced code rather than using AI as autopilot;
• Ability to organize codebases for coding agents, maintain agent-facing documentation such as CLAUDE.md, and build reusable workflow assets such as Skills and prompt templates;
• Ability to write agent-executable feature requests and specifications with verifiable acceptance criteria;
• Solid hands-on experience developing Java and Spring applications, including ORM technologies such as Hibernate, JPA, and Spring Data;
• Experience with message queues, especially Kafka;
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices, including knowledge of common patterns and service integration issues;
• Experience designing event-driven architectures;
• Proven experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and query optimization;
• Commitment to product quality and knowledge of testing approaches, code verification and analysis, and design patterns;
• Reliable, self-driven, proactive, and communicative team player with strong analytical skills;
• Customer-oriented approach and ability to cope with tight deadlines;
• Nice to have: proof-of-concept project experience, warehouse optimization for growing application load, accelerated data collection and aggregation for analytics, applying AI tools throughout the SDLC, integrating AI agents with external systems, tools, and platforms such as MCP.
