ux/ui designer for embedded devices

BAT is evolving into a global multi-category business focused on creating A Better Tomorrow™ by Building a Smokeless World. The Device UX Design team creates interfaces for small smart electronic devices with constrained embedded environments.

• Lead the design of embedded and physical UI components for small-form-factor devices, ensuring experiences meet user and product requirements;
• Produce wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, animations, and mock-ups for constrained hardware environments;
• Support user research, including testing on physical device prototypes, and use insights to refine designs;
• Partner with developers and firmware/hardware engineers to translate UI concepts into robust, high-quality implementations;
• Maintain stakeholder alignment through clear communication, documentation, and regular updates;
• Engage with industrial design, engineering, and related teams to integrate device UX throughout the 4D product development process.

• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field;
• 8+ Years of experience in UI/UX design, including embedded or physical device UX;
• Experience working with hardware and firmware teams, developers, product managers, and other cross-functional partners;
• High proficiency with Figma, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and prototyping tools such as ProtoPie or equivalents;
• Ability to build strong partnerships across teams and influence decision-making;
• Solid project management skills with experience managing multiple workstreams;
• Strong portfolio showcasing device-based UX and clear interaction design thinking;
• Applications with only web or mobile app experience will not be considered;
• Nice to have: experience in consumer electronics or small digital devices.
