ux/ui designer for digital accessibility

North is a digital product studio from Barcelona that partners with companies to innovate new services and build digital products.

• Define and analyze user journeys across the web for accessibility issues, and work with developers and designers to define and implement solutions;
• Own the accessibility aspect of a large design system, ensuring that every component meets the standards;
• Develop frameworks, guidelines, processes, and toolkits on digital accessibility for designers, engineers, and product teams;
• Work with team management to define and implement a plan to grow the team’s accessibility maturity over time.

• Have 2+ years of experience in user experience design and accessibility;
• Know WCAG 2.x guidelines, WAI-ARIA, and related accessibility standards, with practical experience implementing accessibility testing methodologies;
• Have experience testing with assistive technologies, including screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA or JAWS;
• Ability to present design rationale to teams and clients, articulate the “why,” and lead discussions around processes, explorations, and conclusions;
• Strong knowledge of UX principles and best practices, including when and where different methodologies and techniques should be incorporated into the process;
• Know how to facilitate workshops and lead a room, align participants, engage a group, and surface the most important details;
• Have experience working in Agile environments;
• Nice to have: Figma or Sketch experience.
