JOB TITLE: Optimisation Business Analyst
Consumer Financial Crime Optimisation & Strategy is responsible for identifying, designing and delivering change that strengthens financial crime controls, improves customer outcomes and drives operational efficiency across our Financial Crime operations.
We're recruiting multiple Financial Crime Optimisation Business Analysts to support a growing portfolio of strategic, regulatory and operational change initiatives. This role sits at the centre of the change lifecycle, helping teams understand complex problems, find opportunities for improvement and shape practical solutions that deliver measurable business benefits.
This is a highly analytical role which combines business analysis, process improvement, data analysis and operational consultancy skills. You'll work closely with operational teams, project managers, technology partners and senior team members to interpret large and complex data to identify optimisation opportunities.
Successful candidates will bring strong data skills, including Power BI, enabling them to analyse operational performance, identify optimisation opportunities and support data-driven decision making. Financial Crime experience is essential, allowing you to effectively understand operational processes, customer journeys, risk considerations and regulatory obligations.
You'll play a key role in shaping future operating models, improving controls, simplifying processes and supporting delivery of change that improves productivity, colleague experience and customer outcomes.
Strong experience delivering business analysis within change, transformation, optimisation or consulting, including gathering, challenging and translating requirements into practical solutions.
Experience mapping current and future-state processes, identifying root causes and designing improvements that deliver better customer, colleague or operational outcomes.
Strong analytical skills, with experience using SQL and data visualisation tools such as Power BI to explore data, identify trends and turn findings into meaningful insight.
Confident facilitating workshops, interviews and discovery activities, building positive relationships and constructively challenging participants to reach shared outcomes.
Experience within Financial Crime, Fraud, AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, Economic Crime or Risk, with a good understanding of operational processes, controls and regulatory expectations.
Able to bring together process, data and stakeholder insight to solve complex problems and communicate recommendations clearly to operational, change and senior audiences within a regulated environment.
Experience supporting Financial Crime transformation, remediation or operational improvement across areas such as AML, KYC, Transaction Monitoring or Fraud.
Experience supporting automation, workflow redesign or digital transformation, ideally working alongside technology, platform or engineering teams.
Knowledge of operating model design and improvement approaches such as Lean or Six Sigma, with experience translating analysis into measurable operational improvements.
Exposure to larger operational datasets and analytical or automation tools such as Python or Power Automate, alongside experience defining performance measures or benefits.
Relevant professional development or qualifications such as BCS Business Analysis, CBAP or AgileBA, or equivalent practical experience.
