Project manager

• As a Principal Project Lead, you work on a key project for the digital transformation of the justice system and justice administration that receives significant political attention. You are responsible for delivering the overall project and, as the central point of contact, coordinate several streams, a larger team, including the Project Leadership Team, and stakeholders.
• You take on lateral leadership of a project team of approximately 35 people across several streams. Together with the department head and the heads of the disciplines, you address staffing needs, ensure suitable internal project structures and reliable delivery, and model a constructive feedback culture.
• You are responsible for ongoing implementation and capacity planning, as well as classic project management routines (e.g. risk management and reporting).
• You identify content-related opportunities and risks for the project at an early stage, derive strategic and financial decisions from them, and implement them effectively in day-to-day project work. You continuously clarify the project scope based on the product strategy and develop quality criteria.
• You navigate highly complex stakeholder landscapes involving demanding federal-state relationships and responsibilities, as well as an extensive ecosystem (e.g. associations such as bar associations, and politics). You foster trusted collaboration and ensure alignment from working level to leadership level. You always keep our organization's strategic interests in mind.
• You develop and negotiate framework agreements in collaboration with Legal, monitor financial KPIs, and manage budget controlling.

• Extensive practical experience managing complex digital products, services and/or IT projects, and strong skills in budgeting, contract management and controlling.
• Well-developed skills in the lateral leadership of interdisciplinary product teams, as well as broad project management expertise in hybrid approaches (traditional/agile) and standard frameworks (e.g. SAFe, PMFlex Agil).
• Relevant experience in the federal administration or public sector, combined with strong motivation for transformation projects.
• Confidence during critical project phases (e.g. go-lives, transitions, migrations) and excellent time and quality management.
• Excellent communication skills (German C1 and fluent English), empathy and persuasiveness to advance projects even in the face of resistance and rally teams across departments around shared goals.

• The salary for this position is between 90,000 and 105,000 euros gross per year. To determine your individual placement within our salary bands and levels, we take into account the scope of responsibility for the position, the complexity of the tasks, and our assessment of your skills from the introductory conversations.
