financial analyst in payments

Amazon’s EMEA Payments Accounting team supports the controllership and accounting function for EMEA operations across multiple legal entities and locations. The team drives cross-border projects, develops accounting and controllership best practices, and implements financial policies internationally.

• Prepare deliverables for internal and external financial reporting, including analytical commentary and supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders
• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and annual financial statements
• Lead month-end close activities and ensure relevant deadlines are met
• Improve accounting processes and controls for a high-volume transaction business
• Participate in cross-functional project launches from scoping through testing and launch
• Engage with business stakeholders, including technology and administrative teams, on business integration projects

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience in finance roles
• Knowledge of one or more accounting frameworks, including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks, and ability to apply them in daily financial activities
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures
• Experience supporting control implementation or contributing to audits in financial reporting environments
• Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support business decisions
