Finance manager in transport

Would you like to help build a scale-up and shape the financial organization yourself? At Cargors, you have the freedom to take responsibility, put your ideas into practice, and grow with the company. You will join a small, close-knit team and work directly with the CEO. Together with our IT team, you will take concrete steps to automate finance: from invoice processing and checks to reporting. This makes financial operations smarter and helps you develop at the intersection of finance, technology, and leadership.

• Take an active role in bookkeeping, including invoice processing, bank postings, and general ledger administration.
• Ensure the administration is complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Carry out month-end closings, check balance sheet accounts, and prepare financial reports.
• Prepare the year-end closing and work with the external accountant.
• Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations between our entities.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, and handle complex cases yourself.
• Prepare and monitor payments in accordance with internal agreements.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and flag in time where action is needed.
• Prepare VAT returns and ICP statements.
• Coordinate other tax returns and obligations with the accountant or tax adviser.
• Run and check payroll administration in Nmbrs.
• Process payroll changes and ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
• Monitor the reconciliation between payroll administration and bookkeeping.
• Handle payroll tax returns and pension obligations, or coordinate them with the service providers involved.
• Manage, guide, and support two finance employees.
• Allocate work, set priorities, and monitor quality and deadlines.
• Analyze revenue, margins, costs, and variances, and translate them into concrete improvement actions.
• Improve financial processes, controls, and system integrations.
• Work with operations, sales, and the technical team to reduce manual work.

• You take responsibility, work accurately, and feel at home in a growing organization. You can explain financial results, but are just as comfortable handling a posting, payroll run, or outstanding item yourself.
• HBO-level working and thinking ability in finance, accountancy, or business economics.
• Extensive experience with financial administration and independently carrying out month-end closings.
• Practical experience with Nmbrs and Dutch payroll administration.
• Knowledge of VAT returns, ICP statements, and financial controls.
• Experience managing or guiding finance employees.
• Good skills in Excel and financial systems.
• A practical mindset and an eye for process improvement and automation.
• Good command of Dutch and English.
