Finance manager in infrastructure

I am currently partnering with a PE backed Infrastructure company who are expanding across Europe and need a new Finance manager to come and run the German finance function. You will be reporting into the Group Finance Director and be the key business partner to the local teams.

• Track and report capex across German projects, from development through construction, budget against actual, commitments and forecasts to complete.
• Review project contracts, milestone payments and supplier invoices with the project and procurement teams.
• Account for capitalised project costs correctly, through to transfer into fixed assets at commissioning.
• Lead month-end close for the German entities and deliver IFRS reporting to the UK group.
• Prepare HGB statutory accounts and manage local auditors and tax advisers.
• Own cash flow forecasting, aligned to project payments and funding drawdowns.
• Manage VAT recovery on capex and work with advisers on German tax and transfer pricing.
• Maintain strong controls and approval processes for high-value spend.
• Act as finance business partner to the German team and support wider commercial teams.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or the German equivalent, such as Steuerberater or Bilanzbuchhalter), with experience in renewables, infrastructure or other capex-heavy project environments.
• Strong knowledge of both HGB and IFRS, ideally gained in a German subsidiary of an international group.
• Fluent German and English.
• Previous Big 4 or audit background.
