DePuy Synthes is establishing a standalone Orthopaedics company. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months of the original announcement in October 2025, subject to legal requirements, consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies where required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following completion of the transaction, you would become an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programmes, policies and benefit plans. Details of any planned changes would be shared at the appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
As part of the planned separation, DePuy Ireland UC will assume Orthopaedics distribution activities from Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech business. These span distribution centres across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), serving group companies and customers worldwide.
DePuy Synthes, a business of approximately $9 billion, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager within Supply Chain Finance to lead finance for these substantial added activities, combining financial leadership, business partnering and transformation delivery.
Your primary focus will be establishing the finance capabilities, resources and processes needed for these activities ahead of the April 2027 go-live.
Finance Team Development & Transition

- Partner with existing MedTech and distribution finance teams on knowledge transfer and a smooth handover of processes and responsibilities.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning and inclusion.
- Establish scalable, standardised finance processes using analytics and automation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau.
FP&A, Reporting & Compliance
- Build strong relationships with senior regional and global stakeholders across finance, commercial, tax and transformation, influencing decisions and aligning priorities to shape and deliver the finance operating model for the added activities.
- Establish and deliver forecasts for the added activities, drawing on existing processes and partnering with business unit finance, currency management and EMEA commercial finance.
- Lead budget-versus-actual analysis and executive reporting on gross profit performance for the added activities, including reporting for group sourcing companies.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting and consolidation submissions for the added activities, providing accurate corporate and statutory inputs for quarterly and annual legal-entity reporting.
- Partner with the existing DePuy Ireland FP&A team to deliver consolidated legal-entity reporting, integrating added activities operating on a separate ERP from the entity’s existing operations.
- Implement reporting tools for the added activities with finance technology teams, aligned with consolidation systems, Anaplan and the future operating model.
- Lead period-end close and balance sheet integrity, including fixed asset, cash-flow accounting, coordinating with the existing finance team on legal-entity requirements.
- Establish compliance processes reflecting the distribution operating model, applicable tax ruling and intercompany charging requirements.
- Manage audit engagement and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 compliance for the added activities with the existing legal-entity finance team.
Inventory & Capital Expenditure
- Lead budgeting, business reviews, monthly and quarterly close, and variance analysis for inventory, excess and obsolete inventory provisions, and capital expenditure for the added activities.
- Advise leadership on risks and opportunities with actionable, data-driven recommendations.
- Lead the finance workstream for ERP implementation supporting the distribution activities and strategic initiatives to improve operational effectiveness.
