Finance Manager

EnterpriseAlumni is a lean, growing B2B SaaS business. We’re looking for a hands-on Junior Finance Manager to join our Finance team full time. This is an expanded Junior Finance Manager role: you’ll take day-to-day ownership of transaction processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and advance quickly to play a key role in month end and management reporting.

This is a practical, execution-focused role, ideal for a Junior Finance Manager or Financial Accountant with 2-3 years’ experience who wants to broaden their skills in a fast-moving technology business. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and have real scope to help improve and automate our finance processes as the business grows.

Transaction Processing

• Process and code supplier invoices, receipts and expenses accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments for review by the Finance Director.
• Maintain accurate, well-documented records in line with internal controls.
• Clear responsibility to automate and implement workflows that reduce this part of the role to less than 5%.

Accounts Payable

• Manage the end-to-end supplier invoice process, from receipt and approval through to payment.
• Prepare supplier payment runs for approval.
• Maintain supplier records and payment schedules, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Respond promptly to supplier queries.

Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

• Raise accurate customer invoices in line with contracted agreements and billing schedules.
• Allocate customer receipts and keep the sales ledger up to date.
• Monitor aged debt and follow up on overdue balances, escalating where needed.
• Respond to customer billing queries.

Month-End & General Finance

• Complete reconciliations and assigned month-end tasks in line with reporting timelines.
• Support VAT return preparation and other compliance tasks.
• Assist with the annual external audit by preparing schedules and supporting documents.
• Support ad-hoc finance projects and reporting.
• Support FD in the preparation and presentation of the month end accounts.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Help implement and optimise finance systems and tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, including through AI tools.
• Document finance processes and keep procedures up to date.

• 2–3 years’ experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role covering AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
• Experience processing multi-currency transactions.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud accounting system (QuickBooks, Xero or similar).
• Good Excel skills (e.g. XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to reconciling transactional data.
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet month-end deadlines.
• Clear, professional communication with suppliers, customers and colleagues.
• Part qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
• Understanding of UK VAT.
• Exposure to US sales tax.
• Experience in SaaS or technology companies, ideally with subscription billing.
• Understanding of intercompany transactions.
• Interest in finance systems, automation or AI tools.

• Accounting software: QuickBooks.
• Prepaid card systems: Brex, Airwallex and Cledara.
• Banking platforms: Bank of America CashPro, HSBC and Wise.
