The financial organization operates PostgreSQL databases across several international projects with distributed teams. Its database environment is based on AWS and Kubernetes, with databases of up to approximately 1.5 TB.

• Define technical standards, tools, and approaches for the DBA function;
• Take ownership of the technical quality of database-related work;
• Prioritize and distribute tasks within the DBA team;
• Review significant production changes involving database schemas, data, and access permissions;
• Review work performed by other DBA engineers, including an India-based team member;
• Mentor engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing between teams and locations;
• Establish and maintain database documentation standards across projects;
• Administer and troubleshoot PostgreSQL databases in production;
• Perform PostgreSQL installation, configuration, upgrades, and tuning;
• Troubleshoot and optimize database performance;
• Work with replication, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backups;
• Manage database schemas, changes, access permissions, and production releases;
• Monitor and maintain database health and observability.

• Strong hands-on PostgreSQL expertise;
• Production experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting;
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization;
• Knowledge of MVCC, WAL, checkpoints, memory, and connection management;
• Knowledge of transaction isolation, locking, and concurrency;
• Experience with VACUUM, autovacuum, ANALYZE, indexes, and statistics;
• Experience with database security and production change management;
• Experience with High Availability and replication;
• Experience with Patroni;
• Experience with Disaster Recovery and backups;
• Experience with monitoring and observability;
• Experience with Kubernetes and Consul;
• Experience with AWS;
• B2 English with fluent spoken communication;
• Nice to have: experience with other database technologies.
