Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineering and Project Management consultancy providing opportunities across fast-paced client environments in sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, and Telecommunications.

• Evolve and operate the Enterprise Platform product set across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premise workloads;
• Provision, scale, and optimise infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, spanning IaaS, PaaS, and foundational services;
• Develop Enterprise Platforms through Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation and configuration management tooling with Puppet;
• Administer and harden Windows Server, RHEL, and Rocky Linux environments, primarily through automation;
• Operate AWS FSx, S3, and EC2 cloud environments;
• Support and automate VDI infrastructure through AWS WorkSpaces and AppStream;
• Implement observability with LogicMonitor to track SLIs and SLOs;
• Manage enterprise-grade backup and recovery with Commvault;
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub Copilot;
• Participate in the in-hours front-door rota for emergency response, engineering requests, FinOps, and SecOps;
• Participate in the out-of-hours P1 and major P2 rota cyclically one week in five;
• Codify central infrastructure automation for Windows Server, Linux, and SQL Server using Puppet, PowerShell, and Python;
• Provide consultancy to business and application teams;
• Define non-functional requirements and produce technical documentation;
• Participate in lifecycle and release management to keep platforms N-1 or better;
• Apply blast radius protection during changes.

• Extensive experience with AWS PaaS and public cloud platform engineering;
• Practical experience with AWS PaaS services in an enterprise hosting context;
• Strong PowerShell automation and API integration experience;
• Technical understanding and operational experience with Windows Server or Linux, plus operational experience in a second stack from Windows Server, Linux, or SQL Server;
• Production experience with orchestration, automation, and software configuration management tooling;
• Confident engagement with technical experts and non-technical business stakeholders;
• Scrum or Kanban delivery experience is essential;
• Nice to have: Puppet, CloudFormation, Terraform, tools and measurement exposure for Agile delivery.

• 6-Month contract inside IR35, with scope to extend;
