As a Software Engineer in Data Enablement, you will help build the products and services that sit at the intersection of software engineering, data and user experience.
You will work on capabilities that help users navigate IKEA's data landscape, discover trusted data products, understand data through metadata and lineage, and access data through intuitive self-service experiences.
Working as part of a newly established product team, you will contribute to building a strategic platform that brings together data platforms, governance capabilities and enterprise systems into a seamless experience for consumers of data.
- Design, build and operate software products, services and APIs that enable data discovery and consumption.
- Develop integrations across platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Collibra, SAP, M3 and other enterprise systems.
- Build capabilities that improve metadata visibility, data lineage, self-service access and trusted data consumption.
- Create reusable platform services, automation and engineering tooling that simplify the user experience.
- Contribute to modern engineering practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing and observability.
- Partner closely with Data Engineers, Data Management specialists, architects and platform teams to create integrated solutions.
- Help establish engineering standards, patterns and best practices within the team.
- Continuously improve scalability, reliability, performance and usability across the platform.
This is not a traditional software engineering role.
You will be part of building a completely new capability that sits at the heart of IKEA's data, analytics and AI journey. Rather than developing a single application or supporting a specific business process, you will help create the products and experiences that thousands of coworkers and digital solutions rely on to find, trust and consume data.
You will work across a broad technology landscape, connecting modern cloud platforms, metadata solutions and enterprise systems into a unified experience. The challenges are complex, the impact is significant and the opportunity to influence both the product and the engineering culture is substantial.
Most importantly, you will help shape how data is used across IKEA for years to come.
