Python developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Python Developer / Software Engineer with strong hands-on backend development experience to join a long-term client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python development, REST APIs and SQL, with the ability to work independently in client-facing environments. This is a hands-on individual contributor role and is not suitable for candidates whose recent experience is primarily managerial.

• Develop and maintain robust backend applications and services using Python.
• Design, develop and integrate REST APIs.
• Work extensively with SQL for data querying and application development.
• Develop solutions using Python-based frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar.
• Collaborate with technical teams and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective software solutions.
• Troubleshoot, optimise and improve existing Python applications and services.
• Contribute to technical discussions, development standards and best practices.

• 4–10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong, hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with one or more Python-based development frameworks.
• Strong backend development experience.
• Fluent German communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and software development capabilities.
• Comfortable working in a client-facing environment.
• This is a hands-on development role; managerial profiles are not suitable.
• Candidates should have a clear track record of using Python as a core development language rather than primarily for scripting or automation.

• The contract is expected to be long-term, with the final duration to be confirmed.
• Candidates are paid on a daily basis during both client assignments and periods on the bench, subject to the applicable contract terms.
• The role involves working at client sites for approximately 60% - 80% of the engagement.
