Java Team Lead

The team builds core PAM services, including player wallets, ledgers, payment orchestration, bonuses, and account lifecycle services, from the first commit without legacy code.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Java Engineers; set priorities, own domain delivery, and remain hands-on in the code
• Design and implement modern Java backend services for wallet transactions, ledger entries, payment flows, bonus mechanics, and account state management
• Build REST APIs and event-driven integrations consumed by player-facing products, operations tooling, and third-party providers
• Write reliable code with strong test coverage, idempotent operations, careful transaction boundaries, and clear failure handling
• Implement regulatory requirements, including KYC/AML workflows, responsible gaming controls, and audit trails
• Instrument services for production with metrics, structured logging, tracing, and alerting; participate in the on-call rotation
• Contribute to design discussions and RFCs; carefully review teammates’ code
• Use AI-assisted development tooling in the workflow, following platform standards
• Support migration from the current third-party platform through parity testing, data migration checks, and cutover support

• 5+ Years of professional backend engineering experience with deep hands-on Java 17+ and Spring Boot
• 2+ Years managing or leading a team of software engineers, including setting priorities, owning delivery, and mentoring, while remaining hands-on
• Solid experience building and operating transactional systems where data integrity matters, such as payments, wallets, billing, banking, e-commerce checkout, or gaming
• Strong PostgreSQL or similar database skills, including schema design, transactions, locking behavior, and query performance
• Experience with event-driven patterns and messaging such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, including idempotency and retry semantics
• Experience with unit, integration, and contract testing
• Experience operating built systems, including containers, CI/CD pipelines, and using production telemetry to debug incidents
• Good written and spoken English; effective in a distributed, multi-time-zone team
