• Design and develop Java applications and libraries;
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code;
• Troubleshoot and debug Java applications to ensure smooth performance;
• Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality and application stability;
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and reusability;
• Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Java development;
• Participate in Agile development and follow software development best practices;
• Pair with other team members to ensure high-quality outcomes.

• Experience in Java server-side software development;
• Expertise in Java technologies;
• Solid Core Java programming experience with a minimum of Java 17;
• General knowledge of dependency injection and inversion of control;
• Experience using messaging technologies;
• Familiarity with data structures such as sets, hashes, and caches;
• Knowledge of concurrency, resiliency, caching, HTTP, and REST;
• Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices;
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban;
• Experience working with DevOps to deploy applications;
• Experience with software maintenance, bug fixing, and enhancements;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong exposure to standard financial interchange protocols such as FIX and ITCH;
• Nice to have: Exposure to low-latency or high-performance systems, additional languages such as C, C++, Go, Rust, or C#, Front Office financial systems development, OMS/EMS/Exchange systems delivery, equities trading and brokerages, build tools and automation such as Gradle and GitHub Actions, cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
