Java backend developer in unified commerce

We are looking for a Lead Java Backend Developer with more than 5 years of experience to join an international project focused on developing and evolving Unified Commerce solutions.

• Lead the design, development and implementation of scalable microservices in Java;
• Participate in defining the architecture and technical decisions for Unified Commerce products;
• Define and ensure the application of architecture, development and security standards;
• Design and implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions with Keycloak, Okta and OIDC;
• Configure realms in Keycloak and implement identity federation and authentication mechanisms;
• Lead technical discussions with Product Owners, architects and other stakeholders;
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability and security issues in distributed systems;
• Lead code reviews and define quality gates;
• Promote the use of quality and security tools, such as SonarQube and Snyk;
• Ensure code quality, maintainability and reusability;
• Support and guide junior and mid-level developers;
• Promote knowledge sharing and the team's technical development;
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and runbooks;
• Collaborate with frontend teams developing solutions in React;
• Represent the engineering team in technical and architectural decisions with the client.

• More than 5 years of professional experience in software development;
• Solid experience in Java and backend development;
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures;
• Experience with distributed systems, scalability and performance optimization;
• Ability to define architecture standards and development best practices;
• Experience in application security and vulnerability identification;
• Solid knowledge of Keycloak, Okta, OIDC and identity management;
• Experience defining quality gates and leading code reviews;
• Experience with tools such as SonarQube and Snyk;
• Knowledge of React and ability to collaborate with frontend teams;
• Experience producing technical documentation, ADRs and runbooks;
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring developers;
• Ability to communicate and make decisions with technical and functional stakeholders;
• Portuguese and English at C1 level;
• Currently residing in Portugal;
