Java backend developer

• Analyse business needs and technical constraints, refine User Stories, and contribute to effort estimation within an Agile Scrum team.
• Design and develop maintainable, secure, and testable solutions, including backend services in Scala/Play and Java, and frontend components in React or Angular.
• Write unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and ensure compliance with quality gates for production-ready code.
• Investigate defects and production incidents, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable corrective actions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments using Kubernetes and Docker, and application observability.
• Maintain technical documentation and actively share knowledge within the distributed team across Portugal and France.

• At least 5 years of proven professional experience in Java or Scala, specifically focusing on backend service development and REST APIs.
• Strong proficiency in Scala and Play Framework, along with Java 21, and experience with React or Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Solid experience with relational databases (SQL), Git, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, and Docker for robust application deployment.
• Proficiency in French (C1 level) and English (B2 level) for effective cross-functional collaboration with international teams.
• Ability to design maintainable, secure, and testable solutions, ensuring code quality and production readiness.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, contributing actively to daily ceremonies and technical decisions.
